Only planned spending today is to pay the plumber to replace the kitchen faucet in the new house. The one the builder put in is horrible and it drips already, so rather than waste time trying to get it fixed we're just replacing it with a good quality one that should be trouble free for years.

We had a 40 degree day Monday that melted a lot of the weekend snow, but it's been cooler since with freezing fog and wintry mix. However, this morning the roads are dry. It's supposed to be really cold this weekend. Like what it's supposed to be like in winter here. 

All food from home today.

HOme with kids today so no spend.  Need some prayers for DS#2. He has been offered a new job. Has to let them know today if he wants it. He just doesnt know what to do. Please pray that he will know G'ds plan for his family. There are pros and cons to this job as well as the one he has now. Thanks . Babs

Praying for your son Babs. Down to 32 this morning. Weatherman says winter finally here-is supposed to be below normal temps about all week. Have enjoyed the mild weather. Today I'll work until 3. Have a dr appt to follow up on my blood pressure-$30 co-pay. Was high when I had the sinus infection a little over a week ago. It has unfortunately remained high so will see what the dr has to say. All meals will be from home. Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning!  Cold this morning but it's supposed to warm to a balmy 40 degrees today.  LOL  Came to work a little early.  Boss is out this morning so I plan on getting some uninterrrupted work done.  Brought coffee and breakfast but I have an offsite visit for next week's conference prep so I'll grab a salad at some point today between running.  Hoping to catch up at work before next week's conference.  I'll have three 12 to 13 hour days.  Ick.

Cold for sure and got flurries over night...just enough snow to make the ground and trees white, but nothing on the roads yay.  Super stretchy day for us. Brought breakfast and lunch for both of us to work and we have unlimited free coffee and tea in the office. MIL's birthday was Sunday but everyone was super busy, so the the family is getting together for dinner tonight at grandmother-in-laws...we all live on the same farm in different houses so no gas out.  MIL is making meatloaf and sides, GMIL is making mashed potatoes and cake. Went to kroger last night and spent $10 on ice cream plus pre-cut veggies and ingredients for spinach dip so cheap meal for us. They'll be holding dinner for us since we get home around 6:15 (long commute), so wanted something quick I could throw on a platter and go.

 No spending here.  Home w/o any transportation as my truck is in the repair shop--thank goodness we learned our lessons a few years ago and we now have savings for vehicle repairs/maintnenace!  Otherwise...we'd be hurting, for sure! 

Made a loaf of bread from scratch last night, my second attempt.  It is delicious but I let it rise too long after punching it down and then baking it--it is nice and fluffy, which makes it almost impossible to slice w/o tearing.  Works great for eating but not if you want toast!  Making a new loaf today so it can be toasted.

No snow on the ground and 31/sunny.  Going outside to take a stroll around the property and daydream about flowers/seeds that I want to buy/plant. Checking the propane so I can note when to order more. 

Cookng a few meals in advance.

That's about it.  A slow day here but that's ok!

 

Woke up this morning to fog. I have to drive 30 miles to the Toyota dealership today to take care of 2 recalls on my car today. So I will probably be there for 1/2 of the day. I have a book to take so I will have some way to pass the time. Son is going to vacuum the rugs in front of the door today and straighten up since I will be gone. Don't have a clue about dinner, it all depends what time I am finished at the car dealership today.

the sun has gone back to rain.. no school..ds still sick and dd getting it and I don't really care at the moment if they go!    rather she get over it since it is guide camp this weekend so she can go.  at least we all got sleep last night!   birds won't be happy that we are home with no quiet time but no well!  pulled carrot soup out of the freezer since it is great for colds. plus there is still hotdogs and chicken leftover too. 

now I have both that time and sick lovely. popping pain pills  think I will be puttering and watchiing my pvr'd shows.  rearranged my work to do it tomorrow since germs will be less I assume..since my boss has small kids and was out barfing with his last time this week he understands...meeting his mom for breakfast tomorrow.

still need to wash floors and fold laundry and clean the bathroom sink and toilet properly..just did a vinegar spray and wipe for the worst of it yesterday. 

will see if ds will do his martial arts tomorrow plus there is reading buddies too.   did grocery shopping with my mom yesterday.   need large ziploc bags for packing camp gear.  all can wait..

We had some sleet last night, roads were yucky this morning. High of 32 so no melting today. Oh well, it's winter!

I brought my coffee and breakfast to work. Lunch is leftover shredded pork, probably for a sandwich. I have chicken thawing for tonight. Veggies and salad for sides. I hope to make extra chicken so I can have some on hand for other meals.

I need to check my supply closet for Valentines. I bought some extra last year so need to see how many I have/need for the kiddos. I have candy that I bought after Christmas (red wrapped chocolates) in the freezer so ok there. Middle son and DD school/daycare does not promote candy so wants stickers or small prizes for Valentines treats. I'm totally ok with this! I have plenty of stickers and some temp tattoos.

DD turns 2 next week. I have a little left on a Barnes & Noble gift card and I have a coupon for 15% off Kohls. So I think a book and a new dress. My dad is sending me some money for a gift so may buy a toy from him. Can't believe it's been 2 years! Big girl!

No money out planned for today. May pay some bills online but have money in the budget for that. Water/sewer bill came in $40 less than I had in our February budget, whoo hoo! Electric bill was also $10 less than I had budgeted! We're doing something right at our house, LOL!
