We were out of the house early and just got back. We had breakfast at McD's DH Sat morning routine. Ran to the bank to cash a check. Then $40 for gas in my car. Spent $19 at the salvage store but good deals. I got 2 boxes of washing soad for 99 cents each., cat food for $2.99, bag of liter, two sodas for DH for 79 cents each, one two liter and one three liter. 2 cans of ravolis for grandaughter, a chef boyaredee pizza mix for $1.99. They are $4.99 at Price Chopper. Then home. Been working in the yard, starting some more seeds. No big plans for dinner, sandwiches or leftover soup.  I have a pork roast thawing. Maybe cook it for tomorrow not sure if it will be thawed.  Puting together a bag of clothes to donate. Thats it for me. Tomorrow will be church, then prayer meeting was moved from 6:30 to 4:30 so the guys can go home and watch the Superbowl.  Babs

Got woke up by the sun shining right in my face this morning. I really need to get some different window coverings. Two of the dogs woke up before I had my first cup of coffee and they were way too hyper. I hate to start my morning like this. I will be working on laundry all day today. I need to get it done so my husband can pack his suitcase tomorrow. He will be gone all week for a business trip. Dinner is undecided at the moment.

Snowing like crazy out there. We got lucky and there's no ice under it yet. The ground is still not frozen, it's been too warm. But it's snowing so hard it's piling up. The forecast has us in the 4-8 inches range. My guesstimate is that we've hit the 4 inches and we're heading for 8 (or more, if it doesn't slow down). Last night they were saying somewhere between a half inch and 4 inches. The storm must be farther north and east than they thought, and it's not supposed to end until tomorrow morning.

Other than going outside to clear the sidewalk and driveway we're not going anywhere. It's right at freezing, so the snow is wet and really heavy. I hate to think how much snow and how heavy it will be when we get to the old house to clear the sidewalk and driveway. Fortunately we only have a few weeks to go before the new owner gets that responsibility. When we did the driveway and sidewalk at this house, it was snowing so heavy there was another half inch before you could finish, and we don't have a huge driveway. We made 3 passes and gave up. DH will be out with the snowblower again in a while before it gets completely unmanageable.

NCIS marathon on USA, so there will be something to watch on TV today. Doing the normal weekend laundry and other chores.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend. We'll certainly get our exercise.

Spent nothing today. I'm wondering ...what is the highest number of days you have gone without spending anything?

I love playing financial games so when a day like this happens, we get a gold star on the calendar.

I did go to the church this a.m. to volunteer for 2 hours so technically I used a smidgon (sp?) of gas but I don't count that in my daily spending journal.

My guys are finally putting new brakes on my son's truck so a little money out for parts $130 bucks but they are saving $250 bucks by doing it themselves. An added bonus is now my son will know how to do it next time by himself. It is a skill that is really good to know.

We are all working on getting our basement painted this weekend. Money for paint was out of our planned Home Improvement budget.

Soup cooking in the crockpot, older boys are going to church youth event this evening. Youngest is having a friend over for the night, so we will probably watch a movie and pop some popcorn.

Tomorrow we will go to church in the morning, then finish up the basement in the afternoon-I think I will pull a lasagne out of the freezer for Sunday evening.

I need to review February's budget this weekend to see what is coming up and what we have to work with.

    Colder today, and raining.

Got a load of laundry done, folded and put away a couple of other loads

... sorted out my "good" rags from the ones I'll use for messy jobs then throw out.  (the idea of doing that sorting just makes me chuckle).  Put off going to grocery again ... figure it will be a madhouse today and tomorrow.

Did a bit of cleaning in the bathroom ... still need to get back to cleaning the woodwork, etc in there so I can caulk.
